A closer look.
Near black and the softness of old gold
Near black sets off the muted, earthy warmth of old gold. White adds a precise accent, keeping the dark and golden intervals clearly defined. The palette feels restrained and substantial, with the gold offering a softer alternative to a brighter yellow.
Bring the room together
Old gold has an earthy, muted character that works well with aged brass, walnut and tobacco leather. Flax upholstery and a pale stone rug or table offer lighter surfaces in front of the near-black wall. The result is composed and comfortable for a private study or formal sitting room.
