A closer look.
Scarlet with an industrial calm
Scarlet leads this palette with concentrated warmth. Cool gray gives the red a steady companion, and near black sharpens the finer details. The combination feels bold but controlled, with the grays introducing a quieter, more architectural character than a bright white contrast.
Bring the room together
Scarlet gains a firmer architectural character beside gray, near black and dark-stained timber. Consider charcoal wool seating, honed stone and simple blackened-steel lamps. A warm neutral rug keeps the room welcoming while the gray bands provide a cooler interval through the concentrated red field.
